For the past three years, Bomi, her husband, and their newly-born daughter have taken up residence in central Alberta. In 2016, she graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Public Health from Cape Breton University, where she trained in various subjects such as: Issues in Public Health, Public Health Administration, Quality and Environmental Project Management, Food Hygiene, and Public Health Ethics to name a few. Her current role is working in quality management and food safety with various food chains and food suppliers.

She has volunteered and worked with various youth community-based organizations and services, such as Imhotep’s Legacy Academy, where minority youth are helped to strengthen their skill set in STEM and improve their educational success. Currently, she volunteers with an organization that teaches youth various outdoor activities and life skills based on cultural, social and religious education. Bomi believes the youth are the future; with the right life tools, support and advocates, our future is immensely bright.
