Dr. Anita Ewan (RECE, RSW, PhD) is a mother of six, early childhood educator, social worker, researcher, professor and doula in training. She teaches at Red Deer Polytechnic as a full-time faculty member in social work. Anita completed her Ph.D. at Wilfrid Laurier University, alongside an M.Ed. in Adult Education and Community Development at OISE/University of Toronto, and a B.A. in Early Childhood Studies at the Toronto Metropolitan University in Early Childhood Studies. Anita has over 10 years of experience working with children and families in a wide variety of contexts (i.e., early learning and childcare centres, centres for teenage parents, parent-child centres, and recreational programming). She is passionate about helping children and their families, particularly mothers and those who are African/Black. Anita is committed to creating better mental health services for birth givers in Canada.
